Thomas M. Lodde

Thomas Michael Lodde, of Lafayette, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at his home. He was born April 2, 1953, in Lafayette, IN, to the late Richard and Charlene (Kirkhoff) Lodde. Thomas will be remembered for confidence, his love of sports, and the way he made everyone around him feel welcome. Thomas graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1971 and Ball State University. On August 4, 1997, he married Jodi Lambert in Miami, FL and she preceded him in death on August 28, 2025.

From his early days behind the counter as a soda jerk to becoming the proud owner and operator of his families well-known business, Original Frozen Custard by the Park. He was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity at Ball State University, as well as Fraternal order of Eagles. Thomas enjoyed traveling, taking their RV to campgrounds with friends, spending time with his family, and watching his favorite team, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, play football.

Surviving are his children Justin D. (Erin) Hetzel of Greenup, IL, Blake M. Lodde of Lafayette, Jason J. (Madison) Hetzel of Lovington IL, Lindsey R. (Ryan Kingsley) Kilmore of Shadeland, Candi L. Mitchell of Attica, and his grandchildren, Eden Hetzel, Gavin Lodde, Landon Lodde, Bryant Lodde, Macy Hetzel, Jude Hetzel, Lavayah Shields, Annabelle Hetzel, Paisley Shields, Sophia Shields, Ollie Kilmore, Becket Kilmore-Kingsley, Natali Dillon, Quinn Mitchell and Owen Mitchell. Also surviving are his brothers William (Kathy) Lodde and Richard (Paulette) Lodde all of Lafayette. Thomas was preceded in death by his brother Charles Kirkhoff Lodde.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until the time of the service at 7:00 pm on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd.
