Thomas “Tom” William McDaniel, Sr., 77, Fishers, went home to be with his Lord October 13, 2024. He was born in Decatur, Illinois to John G. McDaniel and Marguerite Peach (Andrews) McDaniel. He graduated from Tuscola High School and Eastern Illinois University. He had a successful 39-year career as a Certified Management Accountant for Caterpillar, Inc., with his final position being chief financial officer of the company’s building construction products division in North Carolina.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of almost 57 years, Linda Lou (Gee) McDaniel; children, Mary (Tom) Maas and Tommy McDaniel; grandchildren, Courtney (Gordon) Buhler, Caitlin (Arick) Crecelius, Paige (Donghyun) Shin, Nathan (Kendra) Maas, and Tyler Maas; great-grandchildren, Griffin and Quinn Buhler and Rowoon and Taeyul Shin; brother, John H. (Ruth Ann) McDaniel; sister, Ann (Ray) Chandler; niece, Patricia McDaniel; nephew, Brian (Megan) McDaniel; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wheeler Mission, 205 E New York St, Indianapolis, IN 46204 or Samaritan’s Purse, 801 Bamboo Rd, Boone, NC 28607.
Funeral services will be private.
