Thomas Mcfield Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by George Lopes Funeral Home - Mattapan on May 15, 2025.
Thomas McField was born on August 16, 1961, in Tela, Honduras. In 1974, he moved to Boston, MA, where he later graduated from Brighton High School in 1980. He went on to study Business Management at Bunker Hill Community College.
Thomas proudly served in the National Guard, a chapter of his life he held with quiet pride. He later built a long and respected career as a mailroom supervisor at the Harvard Management Company. After many years of dedicated work, he transitioned into a new role in shipping and receiving at Bloomingdale's, where he was known for his reliability, easygoing nature, and warm presence.
Tom will be remembered most for his kind heart, calm demeanor, and warm spirit. He was a caring and compassionate person who brought joy to those around him. He loved sports-especially basketball, football, and cheering for his favorite team, the Boston Red Sox.
He shared a special bond with his nephew Mikey, who regularly brought him meals, talked sports, and fired up the grill for Tom's birthday each year-a tradition he always looked forward to. Some of Tom's happiest and most peaceful times were spent at his sister Ann's home, relaxing in the yard with Mikey, sipping a cold beer, and listening to old-school music.
Tom especially cherished Ann's cooking. He would always look forward to her homemade pepper sauce, chickeroti,ti and souse (pig feet).
Thomas was preceded in death by his mother, Elaine McField; his father, Marvin Woods McField; and his sister, Wanda McField.
He leaves behind a loving family who will carry his memory forward: sisters Annie McField, Bernadette Jackson, Juanita McField, and Elaine McField; brothers Marvin Woods-McField, Selwyn Bynoe-McField, and Anthony McField; niece Tamika McField; nephew Michael (Mikey) Wright; and a host of other beloved nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and many cherished friends.
Thomas touched many lives with his gentle spirit and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
