Thomas B. Morrissey, 77 of Kincaid, IL, passed away on November 22, 2023, at his residence. He was born on February 24, 1946, in Taylorville, IL, to the late William Morrissey and Mary Louise (Nagle) Morrissey. He married Rose Clutter in 1965 and they later divorced. He married Barb Meyer in 1983 and they spent many happy years together before she preceded him in death in 2015. Thomas worked as a laborer out of the Decatur Hall until his retirement.
Thomas is survived by his children: David Morrissey and companion Tina Hamm of Taylorville, IL; Tina (Clara) Parish of Tovey, IL; Cindy Morrissey and companion Denton Cash of Taylorville, IL; Shelby Casad and companion Allen Moss of Edinburg, IL; Rodney (Kayla) Hunsley of Kincaid, IL; Troy (Barbie) Hunsley of Taylorville, IL; Jennifer Hill and companion Joseph Crawford of Kincaid, IL; William Morrissey of Kincaid, IL; Kiera Morrissey of Kincaid, IL: twenty-seven grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and his beloved companion, Chico.
He was preceded in death by his parents: William and Mary Morrissey; wife: Barb Meyer; son: Tommy Morrissey; daughter: Tracy Shults; sisters: Margaret, Ruth, and Cecelia; brothers: John and Arnold; and two grandsons: Dustin and Derick Morrissey.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville, IL, with Fr. Piotr Kosk officiating.
Memorials in his honor may be made to Stop Soldier Suicide Foundation or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
