Thomas C. Nagle

Horseheads, NY

Passed away on December 29, 2025 at the age 81. Tom was born October 18, 1944 in Elmira, NY, the son of the late Dr. Clyde Nagle MD and Clare Sullivan Nagle (Kozey).

He is predeceased by his sister, Dr. Chris Waters, D.C.

Tom is survived by his beloved and tolerant wife of 58 years Nancy Hamula Nagle; children Tyrone Nagle, Nicole Nagle, Nathan (Charlene) Nagle, Dr. Tina Nagle D.C. (Steve Frycek); grandchildren; Tobiah M. (Griffin) Steele, Thea R. Nagle, Clyde J. Smith; great grandchildren, Iver Steele, and Evren Steele; sisters, Cartha Conklin and Dana Kooch, several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, coaching & sporting event companions, theater troupes and retirement first mate Gary Weber.

Tom worked in Engineering as a Technical Writer. He wrote and illustrated Hardinge Brothers Inc. Operators and Service Manuals. He also wrote the internal "Engineering and Manufacturing Standards" manual, which was the bible for their Engineering Department and Manufacturing Shop. Tom also started and maintained the physical library they once had in Engineering at Hardinge.

Prior to coming to work at Hardinge, Tom was a Mechanical Engineering instructor at Corning Community College, and had many Hardinge coworkers as students. Tom's first teaching job was in the Cohocton Central School District and substituted in Horseheads after retirement. Early jobs Tom held were at Cut Flowers in Elmira, Kodak and Corning Glass.

He dedicated his life to serving his local community as a Town Council and Planning Board Member, and over five decades of coaching football, tennis and baseball and especially lacrosse, his first love.

The family will welcome relatives and friends to Sullivan's Funeral Home, 365 E. Franklin St. at Rt. 13, Horseheads, NY on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 from 3-6 with a Blessing to follow at 6PM.

Tom was a customer of mine for 35 yrs. He would always stop at my desk to share his thoughts about whatever was on his mind. We would finish our conversation with a laugh, a smile and a handshake. He was a true gentleman. My sincere condolences to the Nagle family. He will be missed.
