Thomas M. Nole

Thomas M. Nole of Dunmore died Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Elan Skilled Nursing, Scranton. Born in Dunmore, he was the son of the late Michael and Elsie Pittack Nole. Prior to retirement, he was employed as an electrician by Chamberlain Manufacturing of Scranton.

Born November 8, 1935, Tom graduated from Dunmore High School and proudly served his country from 1957 to 1959 with an overseas deployment in Italy. A skilled craftsman and natural storyteller, he found joy in shaping wood into art, sharing his carvings generously with friends and family. Tom lived for a good round of golf and a lively gathering – always the last to leave, ensuring the laughter lingered just a little longer. He was a lifelong football enthusiast, cheering passionately for the Dunmore Bucks, the Penn State Nittany Lions, and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, and daughter, Valerie, and leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth. He is survived by his son, Tom Nole Jr., and wife, Emma, of Roseville, California; daughter, Cynthia Brown, and husband, Kenneth, of Moscow, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Stephanie, Melissa, Alexa, and Jason; and one great-granddaughter, Chloe. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Jolan Lesniak.

Private graveside services will be held at Dunmore Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Albert P. O'Donnell Funeral Home, 2025 Green Ridge Street, Dunmore.
