Obituary of Thomas Nussbaum
Thomas Nussbaum (91) of Hillsborough, NC passed away January 14, 2024. The son of Simon and Sarah Nussbaum, he was born April 23, 1932 in Kidron, Ohio. He graduated from Dalton High School in 1950 and worked for Ressler Plumbing and Heating in Orrville.
In his early twenties, Tom felt moved to give his life as a messenger of the Gospel of Christ. He labored in Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
Tom was resigned with his physical and mental limitations when he came to Hillsborough, NC in March of 2023. He was content and left a lasting impression on the staff members at both the Adorable Senior Living in Hillsborough and Brookdale Memory Care in Chapel Hill. It was an absolute privilege to visit him. Not many words would be spoken, but his quiet spirit gave encouragement to all that visited him. He loved souls to the very end.
Preceding him in death are his parents; brothers Luther, Mark, Howard, John, and David Nussbaum; sisters Miriam, Nora,
Christine Nussbaum, and Irene Badertscher; and brother-in-law Verle Badertscher.
Surviving him are Margaret Sebrell (niece) of Galion, OH and Ron Badertscher (nephew) of Mansfield, OH.
A funeral service will be held Saturday January 20th at the Meridian Convention Center, 312 W Meadowview Rd, Greensboro, NC (848) 999-1930. Visitation will be from 9-11 am, and the service at 11:00 am.
On Saturday, January 27th, there will be a service in Ohio. Pier At Lighthouse Of Hope, 10470 Winesburg Rd, Dundee, OH. Visitation will be from 9-11 AM. The burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery, Mount Eaton, OH.
