THOMAS F. O'BRIEN SR. – a lifelong resident of Woburn, died peacefully, October 5th at the age of eighty-two. Beloved husband of 55 years to Elizabeth "Betsy" (Parent) O'Brien. Thomas F. O'Brien Jr. and daughter-in-law Valerie of Woburn, Lynne E. Cushing and son-in-law Peter of Woburn, Tracey A. O'Brien and son-in-law Mark Simonds of Wakefield, and Laura S. Norris and son-in-law Timothy of Dracut. He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren, Justin (his fiancé Brittany Aston), Brett, and Grace Cushing; Emily, Abby, Caroline, Jack, and Charlotte O'Brien; Cal, Molly and Colin Norris; and Jaden, Devyn and Jamison Simonds. Tom is also survived by his brother John E. "Jay" O'Brien and his wife Joan of Pocasset, MA, sister-in-law Mary O'Brien of Winchester, MA and his sister-in-law Suzanne Cullinan of Tampa, FL, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews including Hugh N. O'Brien, Jr. with whom he shared a close bond. In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by his sister Patricia O'Brien and his brothers Joseph P. O'Brien Jr., Hugh N. O'Brien and Edward S. "Ned" O'Brien. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his Funeral Mass on THURSDAY, October 10th in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St., Woburn at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held prior to the Mass from 9:15 – 11:15 a.m. in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main St., Woburn, MA. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Tom's honor to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or to the Woburn Food Pantry.
