Thomas "Dale" Owen, 79, of Shawnee, Oklahoma stepped into the presence of the Lord on Monday, January 12th, 2026 in Oklahoma City with many family and friends in attendance. Dale was born in Oklahoma City to Thomas Deyo and Esther Ruth Owen. He attended schools in El Reno, Midwest City and Oklahoma City. In his elementary years he gave his life to the Lord. After high school he attended a year at Bethany Nazarene College.
He married the love of his life, Jackie, on April 17, 1966 on Oklahoma City. Then in May he was drafted into the US Army. In 1972 he and his family relocated to Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Dale loved his family and getting together with them, birthday parties, and attending kids events. He would also help in transporting family and friends to appointments in Oklahoma City and Norman. He went on several snow ski trips with family and youth trips at church. Some of his hobbies include hunting, fishing and bowling.
Dale was a hard worker and had several businesses. 1972 -73 he had a business Sticks and Stones on Kickapoo. He sold statuary, firewood, flocked Christmas trees and hauled hay in the Summertime. In 1974 -1980 he worked as a route driver and supervisor for Dr. Pepper in Shawnee. From 1980 to 2012 he was owner and operator of Alpine Exterminators. In 2013 he would work for Hudiburg taking cars and truck to different parts of the state as well as parts of the United States. He retired from that in 2017. He made deliveries of Mary Kay orders for his wife. He enjoyed helping people and talking to people he would meet while out and about.
Dale was active in his church and was a Deacon for a while, on building committees and other committees as needed. He loved his church and the singing of the old hymns.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, two sons Terry and granddaughter Tierra of Shawnee and Roger and wife Mia of Tecumseh, grandson Colton and wife
Shay and two great grandchildren Connon and Joslyn, of Shawnee and granddaughter Summer of Shawnee. He was also survived by 4 sisters and 1 brother; Ruth Hunter of Shawnee, Jan Bell of Shawnee, Beverly Mitchell and husband Don of Oklahoma City and children, Nora Jean (Soozie), husband David of Oklahoma City and children; brother, Garry Garrison and wife Regina of Windsor, CO and children. He was also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Dale touched many lives and was blessed to have many friends.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 16, 2026 with family gathering to greet friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at Cooper Funeral Home, in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. The Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 17th at 10:00 am at Rock Creek Baptist Church in Shawnee, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.

Dale was the glue and laughter that held our cousins together. We will miss you so much. We are all here for the family. I could hear a big old group of Owens having one very happy reunion as they welcome you home. Love you forever Patsy
