Thomas J. Pausewang, 55, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on May 30,2024 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on February 1,1969 to Judith Lambert Blackwell. Tommy had a passion for sports, specifically softball, and for service to others. He graduated from Lamar Consolidated High School in 1987. He joined the Army shortly thereafter. While in the Army, he was stationed in North Carolina and Killeen, Texas where he was a military policeman. After being honorably discharged, he worked for Fort Bend County juvenile detention while going to school where he graduated as top gun from Wharton County Jr. College. He was hired and served 5 years at The City of Richmond, Texas. He left there and went to work for The City of Rosenberg where he put in 9 years and retired as a detective.
He worked several extra jobs that he enjoyed, specifically Tradition Bank – West Grand Parkway, and HLSR – The Chicken Shack benefitting the Poultry Auction Committee. He formed lifelong friendships with many he met at these jobs.
Tommy moved to Bastrop, Texas and purchased a Sears store which he ran until shortly after the fires of Bastrop. He helped so many with special deals to get back on their feet that he put himself out of business. He then became a car salesman until his diagnosis took the opportunity to make a living away.
Survivors include his daughters, Mady Elizabeth Jones (Marshall), Mary Calleen Pausewang, Kari Pausewang, Granddaughter, Ayda Noelle Jones. Sisters, Dana Duke Kinkead (Jack), Penni Pausewang (Roland Yarborough) and Brother, Jason Pausewang (Tami), along with Stepfather Raleigh Blackwell, stepsisters and 1 stepbrother. He left behind numerous nieces and great nieces and nephews. He was loved and will be missed by them all! He is also survived by Joelle, who had been his wife for 25 years. His best friends, who were more like family to him and a host of people who cared for him in his final years. To all the softball families, you guys were all so special and formed that everlasting bond. It was those times in his life that he was most happy.
