Thomas J. Quirk, 70, of Newark, Delaware peacefully passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023. Born in Brooklyn, New York on February 29, 1952, he was the son of the late James T., Sr. and Elizabeth (Monaghan) Quirk.
Tom was employed as a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service, having retired in 2011 after 39 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed playing volleyball with his wife in their younger years. He loved traveling with his wife and most recently loved spending time with his grandchildren and his great granddaughter, who was the apple of his eye. Tom also served as the devoted caregiver to his beloved wife, Grace (Wooldridge) Quirk, who predeceased him on December 12, 2014.
Tom is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Green and husband, Frank C. Green Jr.; his grandchildren, Parrish, Erick and Miranda; his great granddaughter, Cassie Grace; his brothers, James Jr., Martin and Michael; his sister, Cecelia Quirk; his brother-in-law, Lenny Wooldridge; his sister-in-law, Joyce Barr; many nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth Carolan.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Tuesday, March 7 from 4:00 – 6:00PM.
