Thomas Christian Reimer (Tom), 57, was received into the arms of his Savior on November 2, 2025, in Tacoma, WA. He passed peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Tom was born on October 31, 1968, in Seattle, WA, to Arnold (Arnie) and Katherine (Kathy) Reimer. In 1972, the Reimer family moved to Bergen, Alberta, where he was raised on a farm with his brother, Vince, and sister, Colleen. Growing up on the farm fostered Tom's strong work ethic, curiosity, and determination, and provided an endless supply of childhood stories to amuse his family for years to come. The Reimer family returned to Washington state in 1981, where Tom graduated from Mariner High School in 1986. Following a gap year, he attended Washington State University, graduating with a BA in Finance in 1992.
In the fall of 1987, Tom met Christina Clark at WSU during freshman orientation. They quickly formed a close friendship that deepened over the years. Tom and Christina realized their relationship was for a lifetime, and married on August 15, 1992. Together, they raised three sons, Julian, Sam, and Ethan. Tom was a dedicated and loving husband and father whose greatest joy was leading and caring for his family.
Tom spent his professional career in the mortgage industry and commercial banking. He earned a reputation among his clients and colleagues for his dedication and integrity, and mentored many peers towards their own growth and success. Tom persevered through challenging industry changes and, in March of 2025, earned his Master's of Professional Accounting degree from Eastern Washington University. Tom was hired at a CPA firm as a controller, a position he looked forward to developing until retirement.
Tom's life was characterized by his commitment to his family, friends, and faith in Christ. He was known for his hard work, witty sense of humor, and vibrant personality. Tom used his knowledge and skills generously to serve others, and had a way of making people feel seen, known, and appreciated. Tom experienced a deepening of his faith and love for the Lord during his years in Bible Study Fellowship, where his brothers in Christ learned and grew together.
Always an adventurer, Tom enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities, including mountain biking, backpacking, and skiing. Tom was an avid reader and music lover, and enjoyed every opportunity to travel with Christina and their boys. He took a particular joy in cooking intricate meals for his family and friends.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Christina; sons Julian (Kayleigh), Sam (Natalie), and Ethan Reimer; granddaughter Penelope; father Arnie (Charm) Reimer; siblings Vince (Kathy) Reimer and Colleen (Paul) Morrison; and several dear nephews, niece, and in-laws. He is preceded by his mother, Kathy (1990).
A Celebration of Life service will be held on November 22, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Lifeway Church, located at 5015 SW Dash Point Rd, Federal Way, WA.
