Thomas Clyde Richardson

Thomas (Tom) C. Richardson, 62, of Waverly, VA, loving husband of 39 years to Cheryl (Kessler) Richardson, passed away in a tragic accident on June 24, 2024.
Tom was born in Springfield, MA to Robert Richardson and Beatrice (Strout) Richardson and raised in Enfield, CT along with his three sisters. He went on to graduate from Fermi High School and Porter & Chester. Soon after, he met and married the love of his life, Cheryl, and had a son, Christopher. Tom & Cheryl spent years caring for his parents while raising their son. He was a dedicated family man who enjoyed bike rides, baseball games, vacations in Myrtle Beach, golfing and hunting.
In 2018, Tom & Cheryl relocated to Waverly to enjoy creating a dream home in a beautiful community. As they adventured out and explored the area, they discovered Hampton Roads Winery and found it to be a very peaceful, laid-back setting with a welcoming community of people. Tom has always been deeply connected to his family and the outdoors. His infectious smile and ability to make anyone laugh will leave an irreplaceable void in all the lives he has touched.
He is survived by his wife and son, Christopher T. Richardson (Nicole Martino), granddaughter Mackenzie Bea Richardson; his sisters Julie Houle (John), Chris Richardson and Barbara Greski (Butch), along with many nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
There will be a private celebration of life on Sunday, June 30 at their residence in Waverly.
Tom was an advocate of rescuing dogs and giving them a better life. He loved spending time in the yard with his beloved rescue dogs Bobo, Cooper and Bodie.
