After high school Thomas went to University of Pittsburgh, where he studied pharmaceuticals and obtained his bachelors. He then owned and operated Village Drug Store as a Pharmacist, with partner David Braunstein.
Is survived by his beloved wife Mary Lou Clem Saxton and together they have lived in Nanjemoy for 47 years, brother Kenneth Saxton, along with numerous friends.
