Thomas Snyder Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by White Funeral Home - Lakeville on Jan. 5, 2026.
Snyder, Thomas F.
In Loving Memory

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of our beloved Thomas (Tom) Snyder, who departed this life on December 25, 2025, at the age of 88. Preceded in death by parents Raymond and Louise; brothers Lloyd and Kenny; daughter Julie (Myhran). Survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Diane; sons, Ron (Linh), Paul (Teresa), Gary and Randy; son in-law, Rick (Myhran); grandchildren Lukas (Mitch), Benjamin, Jordan (Lexi), Erin (Jack) and Kari (Josh); great grandchildren, Sebastian and Lana; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Born on July 29, 1937, in Melrose, MN. Tom's family moved to south Minneapolis where he attended Holy Name elementary and later graduated from Minneapolis Central High School. Following high school, Tom joined the Naval Reserves where he continued as a member for eight years. During this period Tom gained employment with Northwestern Bell phone company. In 1957 Tom was introduced to Diane Mirocha by mutual friends. This relationship blossomed and the two were married on June 6, 1959, and would remain inseparable life partners for the next 66 years. Tom had a long and successful career with the phone company (Northwestern Bell, US West, AT&T) serving in numerous positions throughout his tenure, culminating in a management role at the downtown Minneapolis headquarters.

Tom was a legendary "fixer" of many things and always available to help anyone in need. His passions included DIY repair of all types, photography, aviation, classic cars, motorcycles and 1950's era music. He enjoyed social gatherings where his deep baritone laugh could
often be heard across the room, across the hall or across the lake.

Tom and Diane enjoyed traveling with family and friends. Their travels included European countries, the Grand Caymans, numerous trips to the Hawaiian Islands and nearly all the US States. More recently the winter months were spent in Reddington Beach, Florida where they enjoyed the company of many new friends.

Throughout his life, Tom touched the hearts of many with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering support. He dedicated himself to his family and close friends. He was a beloved husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa, friend to many and a valued member of his community. As a selfless man who put others first, Tom's legacy lives on in the many lives he influenced. Family and friends will continue to celebrate the many years of fond memories of Tom.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am, Friday March 6, 2026, at All Saints Catholic Church, 19795 Holyoke Ave, Lakeville, MN. Visitation will take place one hour prior from 10:30 to 11:30 am. A reception/lunch will be held in the church basement following the service. Friends and family are invited to attend and share their memories.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Heart Association and/or The American Cancer Society in memory of Tom.
