Thomas J. "Tom" Sorg

Thomas "Tom" J. Sorg, age 69, of Yoder, IN passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Parkview Randallia Hospital. Born on February 23, 1955, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Thomas H. and Marcy (Giant) Sorg. Tom retired from farming and also worked for International Paper for 34 years. When not working, he enjoyed spending his time gardening, fishing, and especially playing with his 9 grandchildren. Family was most important to Tom and he was extremely proud of his. His absence in his family's lives will be felt every day. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Laurie (Lake) Sorg; children, Josh (Amanda) Sorg, Allison (Jarod) Heckber, Logan (Kristin) Sorg, and Anna (Nathan) Hoffman; grandchildren, Hunter Sorg, Noah Sorg, Jacob Sorg, Hayden Heckber, Hudson Heckber, Hadlee Heckber, Sadie Sorg, Henry Sorg, and Knox Hoffman; sisters, Mona Hart, Sonnie Hudson, Jeanie Bruce, Cindy (Alan) Sorg, Coleen (Jim) Rogers, and Kay (Jim) Freiburger; and brothers, Tony (Leigh) Sorg, Ted (Julie) Sorg, Tim Sorg, and Terry Sorg. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2024, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 14623 Bluffton Road, Yoder, IN 46798 with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. and from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the St. Aloysius Activity Center. Memorials can be written to the Fair Haven Foundation (Indianapolis) and for Mass Intentions at St. Aloysius in Tom's name.
