Thomas Wiater Obituary
Of Pitcairn, age 75, died on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at his home in the presence of his loving family.
Tom was the beloved husband of the late Linda (Miller) Wiater for 42 years.
He was the loving father of Neil E. (Melissa) Wiater of Carnegie and Charles E. Wiater of Pitcairn.
Treasured grandfather of Evan Yaros and Lexi Wiater.
Dear brother of Rev. Richard E. (Deborah) Wiater of North Strabane and Nancy (Joseph) Muha of Ross Twp.
Tom was the uncle of Derek Muha, Jennifer Wiater and Kathryn (Kyle) Laird.
He is also survived by Linda's sister, Karen (late Bill) Barrett and his beloved friend, Jim Fiorito.
Tom was a 1966 graduate of Serra Catholic High School and a 1971 graduate of Youngstown State University with a degree in Business Management. From 1980 until 2015, Tom was employed with Action Housing and retired as a Senior Construction Manager.
In his spare time, Tom loved to collect model trains and vinyl records and, on Sundays, root for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Friends are welcome on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 700 Linden Ave. at Cable Ave., East Pittsburgh, 412-824-8800 where a Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m., with Tom's brother, Rev. Richard Wiater, officiating.
Tom will be laid to rest in Braddock Catholic Cemetery.
Tom's family extends special thanks to his niece Jennifer and close friend, Jim Fiorito, for their attentive care given to Tom.

I worked with Tom on a handful of housing projects over the years and he was dedicated to doing quality work and always keeping those being helped first in his thoughts. You could count on him calling it as he saw it.
