Thomas Merle Wilkinson, 77, of McComb, passed to eternal life on July 12, 2025, at his residence after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his loving family.
Tommy was born March 7, 1948, in Tylertown, MS, to William H. Wilkinson and Eva C. Wilkinson. He was a U. S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam.
Tommy was a faithful and active lifetime member of the McComb Church of God of Prophecy. He loved his God, his family, and his church. He enjoyed working in the railroad car shops and for 22 years at Sanderson Farms where he retired in 2022. He was known as "Cowboy" to everyone at Sanderson Farms. Tommy was always ready with a corny joke and always ready to help others. He enjoyed playing guitar and singing gospel music.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws Harold and Mae Causey, his brother Billy Wilkinson, and other cherished family members.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Donna Wilkinson of McComb; four daughters: Tabitha Forbes and son-in-law Doug of Magnolia, Monica & Hannah Wilkinson of McComb, Tirzah Read & Caleb of Brookhaven; one son: Aaron Wilkinson of McComb; two grandsons: Michael Lee Thomas Moore and Steven Read; two sisters: Brenda Rollinson (James) of Smithdale and Barbara Williamson; and nieces and nephews.
We thank the staffs of Deaconess Home Care and Deaconess Hospice for their care and compassion these last months.
Graveside services will be held in Hollywood Cemetery on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at 10 AM, officiated by Patrick Sanders.
