Thomas Francis Williams, St. Augustine, Florida, died August 11, 2025, at the age of 84 in the Bailey Hospice facility in St. Augustine, FL. He was born and raised in the Congress Heights neighborhood in Southeast D.C. He graduated from St. Johns College H.S., where he played football and was a member of the 1957 and 1958 City Championship teams. Even so, he sent all three of his sons to Gonzaga H.S., where they all played sports, and he grew to always cheer for Gonzaga to Beat St. Johns. He went to college at Mt. St. Mary's and later earned a Master's Degree in Public Administration from American University. He worked for many years in the administration at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in D.C., eventually becoming the Chief Executive Officer. He then worked for many more years in the Federal Government at the Department of HHS. He was also a long-time board member at the Democracy Federal Credit Union. His wife of 38 years, Mary Jane Williams, had previously died on October 26, 2023. He was also predeceased by his parents, Thomas J. Williams and Sue Williams, his sister Mary Ellen Williams, and by his son, Daniel Williams, who died of leukemia at age 5 in 1969. He is survived by his sons, Robert Williams, Seward, NE; Michael Williams (Suzanne), Arlington, VA; Christopher Williams (Ricki), McLean, VA; and his sister, Sheila Goodale, his nephews Troy Goodale, Paul Goodale, and his niece, Vicki Thurman, all of Knoxville, TN. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held at a later date in St. Augustine, FL.
