Thomas James Wimmer

Thomas J. Wimmer, age 75, of Floyd and Christiansburg, passed away on August 19, 2025. He was born on November 6, 1949, to the late Samuel and Georgie Foster Wimmer. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Laurie Wimmer, and sister, Pat Allen. Tom loved his son Joe and was very proud of him. All of his family and friends will greatly miss him. He is survived by his son, Joe Wimmer; sister, Carol Wimmer (Harold); brother, Don Wimmer; fiancé, Connie Sheppard and her daughters, Wendy Phillips (David), Cindy Phillips (Roy), and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren that loved him so dearly; nephew, Donnie Wimmer (Sarah), and their children, Jackson and Colt; nieces, Missy Judd (David) and Holly Dunaway (Joe); special cousin, Sharon Poff. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Neal Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Piedmont Cemetery, Shawsville. Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. prior to the service at McCoy Funeral Home.
