Thor Odin Janda, 19, of Larwill, Indiana passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024. He was born on September 16, 2004, in Warsaw, Indiana.
Thor graduated from Indiana Digital Learning School in 2022. He worked for Kyocera for two years as a CNC machinist. When he wasn’t working, Thor could often be found somewhere in nature, for which he had a deep love. Whether he was kayaking, mountain biking, riding four-wheelers, or simply soaking in the beauty of nature, Thor's adventurous spirit shone brightly. He also enjoyed playing various sports, with a particular love for corn hole and playing darts with his father, James.
Thor’s interests extended far beyond his love for the outdoors. With an insatiable curiosity, he was always eager to learn about anything and everything. This was evident in his deep appreciation for reading and his passion for listening to music from all over the world, often sharing his musical discoveries with others. Most importantly, Thor cherished his family above all else. He had a rare ability to connect with each family member, making everyone feel valued and understood. Some of his most precious memories were the countless hours spent with his mother, Leslie, listening to music and simply enjoying each other’s company.
Those who knew Thor will remember him for his kindness, compassion, and infectious positivity. Always willing to lend a helping hand, Thor gave the best advice and had a knack for knowing exactly what to say when someone was in need. He never missed an opportunity to express his love for his family and friends, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. Thor's life was filled with love, adventure, and genuine care for others. Thor Odin Janda leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Thor is survived by his parents, James Janda, Leslie and Justin Sheckler; siblings, Skylar (Logan Brugh) Janda, Cole Sheckler, Austin Sheckler, Vega Janda, and Marissa Sheckler; grandparents, Nancy and Dennis Janda, Denise and John Potter, Jim and Lori Garner, and Lana and Marty Sheckler; great grandpa, Charlie Garner; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
