Tim Berkland, age 76, of Fairmont, Minnesota, formerly of Fenton, passed away on September 15, 2025 at his home. Memorial services will be 10:30 am Wednesday September 24th at St. John's Lutheran Church in Fenton, with burial in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery of Fenton. Visitation will be 9 am until service time Wednesday at the church. Tim's services will be live streamed on St. John's Facebook page.
Timothy Edward Berkland, the son of Earnest and Sylvia (Larson) Berkland, was born on March 29, 1949 in Algona, Iowa. In 1967 he graduated from Sentral of Fenton High School. Tim then attended Iowa Lakes Community College and received an associate's degree in HVAC. On December 23, 1971 Tim was united in marriage with Rennae Votteler at St. John's Lutheran Church in Fenton. Tim farmed in the Fenton area until his retirement.
Tim enjoyed shooting guns, trap shooting on the farm and at the Seneca Gun Club. He also enjoyed hunting deer and pheasants and the trips out west to hunt prairie dogs, deer and antelope. Tim could also be found fishing, golfing with Jesse and following the Minnesota Vikings.
Left to cherish Tim's memory is his son Jesse (Jeanne) Berkland of Algona; grandchildren, Annie, Oliver and Elliot Berkland; great grandchildren, Kennedi Blair, Charlotte and Melody Norland; a brother, Steve (Jackie) Berkland of Spirit Lake; a sister, Donna Ismir of Fort Collins, CO; and a sister-in-law, Kathy Berkland of Fenton. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother-in-law, Sami Ismir; and brothers, Stan Berkland and David Berkland.
Memorials may be made in Tim's name and directed to St. John's Lutheran Church. The Lentz Funeral Home of Algona is serving the family www.lentzfuneralhome.com
