Timothy M. Carr, 65, of Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 4, 2024 at OSF St. Francis Hospital.
He was born on February 19, 1959, son of Robert A. and Irene R. (Duddy) Carr in Iron Mountain, MI. Tim was raised in Niagara and in 1971 the family moved to Escanaba. He attended Escanaba Area Public High School and graduated class of 1977. Tim served in the Navy from 1977-1981 and then later earned an associate's degree at NWTC in Green Bay.
On October 16, 1993, Tim married Gail Brunette-Gillespie in Escanaba. He worked for eight years at Mead Paper until moving his family to Green Bay for a career opportunity with Appleton Coated Paper Company. He retired after 20 years as an instrument technician in February of 2014.
Tim enjoyed his retirement years. He and Gail loved spending time at their home in Ford River in addition to their residence in Green Bay. Tim was a meticulous handyman that loved to build things and always helped with projects for his family and friends.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time at the race track with the Iversons as well as watching NASCAR on TV, cooking, and watching football. Spending time with his grandchildren brought him the most happiness.
Among survivors include his wife, Gail Carr of Green Bay; stepchildren, Cindy (DJ) Mancheski of DePere, WI, Dion (Chelsea) Gillespie of Green Bay, WI, and Shannon (Kurt) DePagter of Green Bay, WI; 11 grandchildren, Christina, Corey, Cole, Dylan, Luke, Gavin, Boston, Branson, Hallory, Carson, and Brielle; great granddaughter, Charley; siblings, Steven (Karen) Carr, Kevin (Natalie) Carr, and Julie (Jamie) Iverson; father and mother in law, Wallace and Iona Brunette of Gladstone; many loving sisters and brothers in law; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Irene Carr and brother-in-law, Gerald Brunette.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 9th from 1-3 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home, 302 S. 13th St., Escanaba. Military honors will take place at 3 p.m. and the funeral service will immediately follow with Rev. Robb Jurkovich officiating. A gathering and meal will take place at the conclusion of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are respectfully requested to be directed to the family and they will be purchasing trees to be planted on their property at a later date.
