Timothy Dever Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McMahon - Coyne - Vitantonio Funeral Home - Mentor on Sep. 4, 2024.
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Timothy 'Timmy' Dever on Saturday, August 31st, at the age of 56. After a courageous battle with cancer, Tim passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and a remarkable spirit.

A graduate of the St. Joseph's class of 1987, Tim was renowned for his exceptional handyman skills and his unwavering willingness to lend a helping hand with a smile on his face and a beer in hand. He found joy in Nascar, motorcycles, sailing, swimming, and cherished moments with his loved ones.

Tim's warmth and compassion radiated from him. He will be deeply missed by his long-time companion Katie Shandle and his siblings: Mary (Daniel Jackett) Imbler, Patricia (Jeffrey) Whitaker, Colleen (Timothy Ferron) Dever, his twin, James 'Jim' (Natalie Laine) Dever, Kathleen (Jeffrey) Steiss, his nieces and nephews: Lauren (Kevin) Amery, Melissa Whitaker, Delaney Imbler, Ryan Zimcosky, Hannah Steiss, Hayden Steiss, Michelle (Michael) Tankovich, Melissa (Phillip) Ritchey, Matthew (Kathleen) Ferron, Eric (Shellie) Jackett, Todd (April) Jackett, and many great nieces and nephews.

He held a special place in the hearts of his long-time companion Katie Shandle, and her family, including her children whom he considered his own, Timothy (Jacqueline) Nazario and Thomas Nazario. As well as grandchildren, Thomas, Nash, and Peyton. Her mother, Judi Shandle, sister, Tracy Shandle and nephews Michael Zarack, Steven Kuntz, and Devin Kidd, who were especially dear to him.

Tim will also be deeply missed by his lifelong friends, Ken Hamilton and John Fritz.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Jean and Neil Dever, his brother, Michael Dever, and his nephew, Robert Glazier. He will forever be cherished for his warmth, compassion, and love for his family and friends.

A celebration of Tim's life will be held on Monday, September 9th, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center Street (Rt. 615, N. of Rt. 2), Mentor, OH 44060, with visitation from 4-7:30pm and a ceremony at 7:30pm. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
