Timothy Rewis Obituary

Mr. Timothy Keith Rewis, age 61 a resident of Polk City went home to Heaven on Saturday, May 14, 2022 surrounded by family. Mr. Rewis was born November 26, 1960 in Savannah, Georgia to Corbitt and Alma Jeanette (Pittman) Rewis. He was a Polk County resident since 1970 coming from Georgia and graduated from Auburndale High School Class of 1978. He was a Pressman in the Printing Industry working for "The Flyer" for over 20 years and "Sun Publications" for 3 years. Tim was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Polk City and member of the worship team playing the drums. He enjoyed fishing, fishing in tournaments, helping others, music and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother – Ronald Giles Rewis and 2 brothers in laws – Charles McKenzie & Joe Williams. Tim is survived by his loving & devoted family, only child daughter – Alicia "Nikki" (Jason) Stephenson of Lakeland; 2 sisters – Sybil (Doug Edwards) Williams and Deborah McKenzie both of Polk City; 2 grandchildren – Clayton & Destiny; 3 nephews – Brandon, Brian (Serena) & Ronnie (Katie); 5 nieces – Amy (Steve), Crystal (Scott), Jenny (Kris), Christina (Buddy) & Brandy (Brad) and many other extended family.
A celebration of Tim's life will be 4:00 pm Saturday, June 4th at Faith Baptist Church, 8550 SR 33, Lakeland.

One day, before his mother passed, I stopped at the Dollar General in Polk City. While shopping, someone walked past and randomly put something in my cart. I looked up, in disbelief, only to see Tim grinning at me and then we both laughed.
I moved away from Polk City and hadn´t seen him for over four decades, but he still recognized me and we spoke about our families, and the "old days" - the 70´s - and playing baseball.
Such an unexpected treat!
