Timothy (Tim) Brian Shelburn, age 47 lost his several months long battle with Pancreatic Cancer on Saturday, July 6, 2024. Tim grew up in North Springfield and attended Hillcrest High School. Soon after graduation, Tim began working at Noble and Associates, a foodservice marketing agency in Springfield MO. Tim worked in the IT department, and it was in this role that he met his wife, Sarah in 2006. They began dating a couple of months after Sarah began working at Noble and went on to an amazing 16-year marriage.
After leaving Noble, Tim taught himself how to code and became a web developer. He put this new skill to test with Departika, a digital marketing agency, for over 10 years and most recently was a Sr. Developer with their partner agency Mio, based out of St. Louis.
Over the years, Tim also developed a keen interest in grilling and BBQ. This hobby turned into a lifestyle and became a true passion of Tim's with him often posting pictures of each night's dinner online and amassing thousands of followers. Through this hobby Tim made lifelong friends and was able to take part in many incredible experiences from participating in the World Food Championship to assisting in upscale catering events. A couple of years ago, he even did a pig roast for our local Channel 10 news' best backyard contest. He loved what he did and enjoyed teaching others all about the joys of backyard BBQ.
In 2012, Tim's daughter, Maggie Mae, was born and she became the apple of Tim's eye. Mags and Tim had a special bond since the beginning with Maggie often curling up next to Tim or snuggling with dad on lazy weekend mornings. Tim was so proud of Maggie and was the true epitome of a "girl dad". He would do anything for her, and they were two peas in a pod.
Everyone who knew Tim knew he was the life of the party no matter where he went. He was never afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve or be a total goofball. All he cared about was getting a laugh. He was also generous, kind, and a truly genuine person. He was loved by many and will be missed by more.
Tim was the son of Bill and Pam Shelburn of Strafford, MO. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Waunita and John Schuchman and his fraternal grandparents Lige and Juanita Perryman. He is survived by his mother, Pam, father Bill, sister Amy and husband Aleksis, nephew Zuben, niece Sofija, brother Romain and wife Sherry, wife Sarah, and daughter Maggie. A celebration of life will be held at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home on Thursday, 7/11 at 2pm. Tim will be laid to rest at Rivermonte Memorial Gardens after the service. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, July 10 at the funeral home.
