Timothy S. Sortor, age 60 of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Henry Ford Hospital in Wyandotte, MI. He had been in declining health for the past two months.
Born December 20, 1963 in Monroe, Tim was the son of the late Gilbert and Florabell (Miller) Sortor. He was a 1982 graduate of Monroe High School and employed by the Monroe County Road Commission as a Heavy Equipment Operator.
Tim was an avid University of Michigan Football fan. His personal interests included deer hunting, fishing, golfing, and playing recreational softball.
Tim is survived by a daughter, Tiffani Gregg of Wyandotte, MI; five brothers, Ronald Sortor of Curtisville, MI, Larry (Kay) Sortor of Monroe, Gary Sortor of Monroe, Brad Sortor of Lewiston, MI, and Keith (Janet) Sortor of Erie, MI; grandson, Cristofer; and 15 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lily Mae; and two sisters-in-law, Chong Cha Sortor and Almyra "Sis" Sortor.
Family and friends may visit from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 2nd at Bacarella Funeral Home where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Kelly-Marie Zawodni, pastor of Ida United Methodist Church will officiate followed by burial at Rath Cemetery.
Memorial donations are suggested to Gabby's Grief Center.
