Timothy Kevin Swartz, 62, of Arnold, passed away Monday, April 1, 2024 at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights.
Tim attended high school in New Jersey and earned a bachelor's degree from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. From 1983 to 1986, he served with the U.S. Army. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed for the federal government in Albuquerque, NM and Slippery Rock, PA.
Tim was a gentle, kindhearted, peaceful man who loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Tim was always pleasant to be around. He enjoyed the simple things in life and didn't require much to be happy. His heart was in helping those less fortunate than himself. Most people spend their whole life between the cradle and the grave filling their lives with things that will fulfill them. Not Tim. He had an earthly dream. He was moving to Ghana, Africa, in a few months, to be where he built a school for children there and to be married to his fiancée. The Lord chose to take Tim home before that earthly dream ever came to pass. Tim's life may look like it ended too soon or sadly, but make no mistake, he is more alive now than ever, thanks be to Jesus Christ.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, James Clinton Kitchen and Patricia Swartz.
He is survived by one brother, James Swartz (Christina) of Lacey, Washington; half-sister, Pamela Goldstein; half-brother, Theodore Kitchen; as well as his aunts, uncles, niece, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
Family and friends will be received from 10 to 11 AM Thursday, April 4, 2024 at the Lopatich-Brinker Funeral Home, LLC, 601 Weldon Street, Latrobe. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday in the funeral home with his Pastor, Rev. Dr. Mitchell Nickols officiating. Interment will be private. My Brother, I keep picking up the phone to call you. I still can't believe you have left us. You were my best friend; the last 18 years have been short. From building a school in Ghana to the mine, I can't believe you left us. The stupid stuff we did along with Scott jr and Scott III, the memories I will cherish.
I went to our favorite place to grab a steak, and it wasn't the same. Kenny Pickett also lost his number 1 fan. Rest in Peace, Brother.
