Toby Jean (Nash) Ritchie, 78, of Keyser, WV, passed away peacefully at WVU Medicine Potomac Valley Hospital in Keyser, WV, on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
Born on February 15, 1947 in Barton, MD, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Curtis and Anne Marie (Preston) Nash. She also was preceded in death by four brothers, Donald, David, Phillip, and Theodore Nash, two sisters, Elsie Arnold and Darlene Spitzer, and a great-grandson, Jasper Mongold.
Toby was a beloved figure in her community, a 1965 graduate of Bruce High School, and was a dedicated employee in the bakery at Martin's Food Store in Keyser for over two decades. Her passion for baking extended to her home life, where she was known for her exceptional culinary creations.
A wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, Toby was cherished and admired by many. She found joy in the simple things in life, such as reading, tackling crossword puzzles, and, in her younger years, riding motorcycles. Her love for her feline companions was well-known, bringing her much comfort and companionship.
Toby is survived by her husband of 59 years, Marvin W. Ritchie, Sr., sons, Marvin Ritchie and wife Heidi of Dracut, MA and Matthew Ritchie and wife Catherine of Cape Coral, FL. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Charles, Calvin, Cameron, Caitlin, and Skylar Ritchie and Savanna Mongold; a great grandson, Harvey Korbi; brothers, Randy Nash and wife Mary of McCoole, MD, and Tim Nash of LaVale, MD; sister, Sheri Sears of Keyser, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life for Toby will take place at a later date at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, where family and friends can come together to remember a woman whose kindness, love, and spirit touched the lives of so many.
Toby's legacy of love, kindness, and warmth will continue to live on in the hearts of family and friends.
