Tod Stuart Custer, 62, of Alexandria, passed away on December 9, 2022, at the Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. He was born on December 5, 1960, in Anderson, Indiana.
Tod graduated from Alexandria Monroe High School and attended Ball State University.
He worked in the food service industry as a chef for 20 years and had a passion for serving others with this talent. He was a member of Central Christian Church where he cooked for the church youth group and served as an unofficial father to many.
Although Tod suffered adversity throughout his life, especially with his health, his motto was "It's OK, we will get through this." And we did.
Tod is survived by his loving spouse of 33 years, Karen (Faust) Custer; children, Drake Custer and Anna (Brandon) Slinker; mother, Betty Sue Custer; siblings, Austin (Vicki) Custer, Tony (Bobbie Kannady) Custer, John (Denise) Custer, Gina Jarnecke; brother-in-law, Erick (Laura) Faust, sisters-in-law, Kristen (Mark) Ogle, Heidi (Jim) Hogshire, Becky (Kevin) McClain; and so many loved and cherished nieces and nephews, who were all so dear to him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Eugene Custer, Jr; brother, Robert Lee Custer; grandfather, Alfred Eugene Custer, Sr., step-grandmother, Johnnie Custer, grandmother, Ann Semon, grandmother, Aldeane Pherson, grandfather, John Pherson, great-uncle, Ott Pherson; in-laws, Howard and Mary Faust, and uncle, Richard Faust.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022, from 4:00 pm - 8: 00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson, IN.
Services will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at 1:30 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Rick Vale officiating.
Cremation will take place.
Memorial contributions may be made to Central Christian Church, The National Kidney Foundation, American Diabetes Association, or The American Heart Association. www.loosecares.com.
