Todd Allen Constable, age 62, of Rolla, Missouri, passed away on January 2, 2025, at Phelps Health Hospital in Rolla, following a long battle with diabetes. Born on January 12, 1962, in Princeton, Missouri, Todd was the son of Linda (Booth) Bowling and the late Jack Constable. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Troy Constable, and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Todd was a proud graduate of Princeton High School, Class of 1980. He chose to pursue a career in auto body repair and attended a trade school where he earned second place in the state competition in Kansas City. However, Todd's true passion was in demolition derbies, where he made a name for himself in Missouri and surrounding states. In his first year, he earned championship status in five states-a testament to his drive and skill.
Beyond his love for demolition derbies, Todd had a deep appreciation for hard work and a generous spirit. He was known for his kind heart and always being ready to help anyone in need. Todd spent much of his career in landscaping, working with Gethsemane Lawn Care, and particularly on landscaping projects at Fort Leonard Wood. He also worked in pipeline construction and operated a snow plowing business in Rolla and St. Louis. His talent extended beyond his jobs-Todd could build just about anything, and his creative spirit was a constant source of pride. He also enjoyed hunting arrowheads, and playing pool.
Todd loved spending time in nature, particularly enjoying scouting deer with his daughters, as he no longer wished to hunt them. His love for his family was evident in everything he did. Todd was especially proud of his three daughters, who grew up surrounded by the world of demolition derbies, and his numerous grandchildren. He was a man of great humor, wit, and honesty, always ready with a joke and a helping hand. He was also known for his unwavering loyalty to his friends and his willingness to give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
Todd is survived by his mother and stepfather, Linda and Bob Bowling, of St. James, MO; his children, Danielle (Jordan) and husband Jared of Rolla, MO; Nicole Constable and partner Vincent Richardson of Vienna, MO; and Lauren Freeman of Kansas City, MO; sister, Debbie Constable of Rolla, MO; grandchildren, Anna Freeman, Madison Zink, Chayton, Chancen, Brylan, and Baylor Jordan, and Adalynn Constable.great granddaughter, Hadley; nieces and nephews, Troy Constable (Arin Sgroi), Hannah Constable (Tanner), Trevor Constable, Charlie Pickett, Ronnie Davis, He is also survived by a host of extended family and many friends who will miss his warmth and generosity.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Rolla Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary, with Pastor Chuck Whitmire officiating. Interment will follow at the Wynn-Maxwell Cemetery in Rolla, where Todd will be laid to rest next to his brother, Troy. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Rolla Chapel on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Todd Constable Derby fund, cards are available at all James & Gahr locations. Todd's legacy of kindness, hard work, and love for his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
