Todd Allen Gabriel, 68, passed away on April 9, 2024 in Rochester, MN.
Todd was born to Orval and Betty (Burke) Gabriel on November 26, 1955 in Hudson, Wisconsin and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1974. In 1978, he graduated from UW-Stout with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and started his career with IBM in Rochester.
He was a founding member of the 37th Street Gold Jazz Band. He played percussion and loved music throughout his life. In 1986, through marriage, Todd welcomed Rory into his life as his stepdaughter. Todd adopted his first son Jacob in 1990 and a year later had a son Jeffrey. Todd, just like his father, loved talking to everyone. He enjoyed sharing his love for jazz, taking pictures, and being with his family. He was a kind and gentle soul with a love of nature, music, the Boundary Waters, and the Green Bay Packers. Todd was a member of Evangel Methodist Church in Rochester.
Todd is survived by his sons Jacob and Jeffrey and stepdaughter Rory (Randall), step mother Bovaird, "Bo", brothers, Mark (Brenda), Paul (Judy), and Eric (Kelly), step brother James (Sheila) Held; sister in-law Shari; grandchildren, Anna, Samuel, Leo and Joseph, and mother of his children Beth. He was preceded in death by his parents Orval and Betty, brother Kevin, and niece Melinda.
A visitation for Todd will be held on Friday April 19, 2024 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Evangel United Methodist Church, with a memorial service to begin at 2 p.m. A burial will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been made through the Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Home.
