Todd A. Klann, age 62, of Millersburg, died unexpectedly on Friday, September 5, 2025, at his cottage on Black Lake. The son of Don and Ruth (List) Klann, Todd was born in Detroit on April 11, 1963, and moved to Northern Michigan in 1993 from greater Detroit. He married Tamara Bishop on March 14, 1997, in Cheboygan. Todd and Tammy first crossed paths while both were working at the Cheboygan Kmart store. It was here that their connection began, eventually growing into the partnership that would shape the next 28 years of their lives together.
Todd dedicated his professional life to serving as a paramedic, working with ambulance services in many Northern Michigan communities, including Cheboygan, Onaway, Mackinaw City, Atlanta, Gaylord, Lewiston, Mio, and West Branch. Todd was known for his calm and composed presence during emergencies, qualities that made him an outstanding medic. He approached each situation with courage, passion, and unwavering dedication, earning respect from all who worked alongside him.
Todd had a deep appreciation for television and film, especially classic movies and World War II films. Each evening, he made it a point to watch Jeopardy, never missing an episode. One of Todd's favorite ways to spend time with his son was through their mutual love of video games. Together, they enjoyed countless hours playing titles such as Call of Duty, Gears of War, and Golf, sharing laughter and creating memories through friendly competition and teamwork. A bit of a goofball, Todd had a gift for making people laugh with his quick wit, clever retorts, and perfect one-liners. His sense of humor paired with that of Tammy's made for a marriage filled with laughter.
Todd leaves his wife of 28 years, Tamara Bishop, of Millersburg; son, Chase Klann, also of Millersburg; stepdaughter, Krystle (Josh) Coggins of Lansing; as well as two grandsons, Wyatt and Dexter. Also surviving is Todd's brother, Troy (Kelly) Klann of Detroit; nieces, Lauren and Marissa; nephew, Nathan; brother-in-law and best buddy, Al Bishop of Cheboygan; and his canine companion, Dash, who never left Todd's side.
Todd was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws.
In accordance with Todd's wishes, cremation has been completed and no services are scheduled. His family will remember his privately. Those planning an expression of sympathy please consider a contribution in memory of Todd to the Cheboygan County Humane Society.
