Todd Anthony Mellick, born on March 12, 1974, in Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on May 30, 2025, in his hometown. He was 51 years old.
Todd was the beloved son of Patricia Loran and Phillip Mellick. From the beginning, Todd was truly one of a kind—a bright light with an infectious sense of humor and a personality that filled every room he entered. Known for his goofiness and quick wit, Todd had an unmatched ability to turn even the darkest moments into ones filled with laughter. If you needed a smile, Todd was there—cracking a joke, pulling a funny face, or simply being his wonderfully unique self.
He never met a stranger. Todd had a way of making everyone feel like a friend, and for many, he was exactly that—loyal, dependable, and the kind of person you could always count on. Whether you were a lifelong friend or someone he just met, Todd welcomed you with open arms and an open heart.
A lifelong lover of sports, Todd was an avid fan of UK basketball and a die-hard Denver Broncos supporter. Game days were never quiet when Todd was around—you could hear him coaching through the TV, passionately cheering (or shouting) as if he were on the field himself.
Todd also had a deep love for music, especially old school rap, and often had a beat playing in the background of his life. In his younger days, he enjoyed heading out to Taylorsville Lake with his friends, making memories that would last a lifetime.
He was a loving son, a fiercely loyal friend, and a true fighter—sometimes stubborn, but always with a joke ready to break the tension. Todd had a gift for bringing joy in the most unexpected moments and could make you laugh even when you didn’t want to. His light-hearted spirit, generous heart, and unforgettable presence will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Todd is preceded by his stepdad, Jimmy Loran; father, Phillip Mellick; and uncle, Mark Goble.
Left to cherish his memory, Todd is survived by his wife of 20 years, Shanna Mellick; mom, Patricia Loran; children, Madison Stone (Ethan), Jalyn Mellick (David McCoy), and Austin Mellick; grandchildren, Andy Mellick and Cayden Mellick; mother-in-law, Sandy Stegner (Harvey); siblings, Phillip Mellick (Nancy) and Tammy Fritz; and a host of extended family and close friends.
Todd leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unforgettable memories. May he rest in peace, knowing the joy he brought into the world will never be forgotten.
