Tom Sumrall Obituary
TOM SUMRALL - George Thomas "Tom" Sumrall, age 81, of Columbus, MS, formerly of Jackson, MS, passed away July 23, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Friendship Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Cuthbertson officiating. Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Tom graduated from Provine High School in 1961 and attended Jackson State University. He joined the U. S. Air Force, served in Vietnam, and received an honorable discharge from the service. He served as a police officer in Jackson and owned a trucking company and traveled extensively. He married his wife Linda in April of 2004 in Chapeatlinburg, TN, and they loved traveling, cooking, and movies. Tom loved the Lord and read his Bible every day. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, gardening, and growing vegetables. Tom and Linda were church and Sunday school members of First Baptist Church of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Sumrall, brother, John Sumrall, son, Rusty Sumrall, and a step daughter and husband.
