Tomas "Tommy" Bernal, age 58, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at his residence. 

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 6:00 - 7:30 P.M.. 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 16, 2024 at Lamar Street Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Shipp officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home. 

Tommy was born on May 23, 1966 in Sweetwater, Texas to Tomas and Gloria (Molina) Bernal. He was a 1984 graduate of Sweetwater High School. He married Carrie Fogle on May 26, 2009 in Sweetwater, Texas. He worked as a Locomotive Engineer for Union Pacific Railroad. He was a Christian. 

He is survived by his wife, Carrie Bernal of Sweetwater, Texas; daughters, Samantha Andrews and husband Brian, Rebecca Rooney and husband Alex, Bailey Keener and husband Ryan;  sons, Brian Bernal and wife Ashley, and Drake Bernal; grandchildren, Alissa, Bentley, Amelia, Aaron, Bonnie, Levi, Jordan, Emmerson, Greyson, Adalynn, and Rafe; mother, Gloria DeLeon of Sweetwater, Texas; three brothers, Freddy DeLeon and wife Sherry of Sweetwater, Texas; Fabian DeLeon and wife Mona of San Antonio, Texas, and Lano DeLeon and wife Juanita of Sweetwater, Texas; four sisters, Erlinda DeLeon and husband Jessie of Sweetwater, Texas, Gloria McDonald and husband Kevin of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mary Petersen and husband Eric of Andrews, Texas and Queenie "Bee" Bernal of Midland, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Tomas "Tony" Bernal, and brother, Johnny M. Gonzales. 

Pallbearers will be his Foosballer Teammates.
