Tommie Lindsey Obituary

Hello there, this is Tommie Lindsey Jr., but most of you knew me simply as Tommie, and I am writing to you from the other side. I was born on a beautiful spring day, the 3rd of May, 1956, in Laurel, Mississippi, and I slipped away quietly on the 15th of August, 2025. I spent my most recent years in Columbus, Ohio, taking joy in the simple pleasures of life.

I was an ambitious man, dedicated to my work, and always strove to inspire those around me. My profession as a landscaper gave me the opportunity to bring beauty to our world, one yard at a time. I found joy in transforming ordinary spaces into lush, green paradises and worked tirelessly to ensure everyone's yards were beautiful. My love for creation extended beyond the yards I groomed; I also constructed my own T-shirt and book design shop called "A Touch of Heaven on Shirts". It was a labor of love, reflecting my dedication and passion for creativity.

In the book of Matthew 22:37-39, the Word of God says, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself." I strived to live by these words every day. My family and friends mattered the most to me, and I hope I was as much a blessing to them as they were to me. I leave behind cherished memories with my daughters, Tonja and Angela; my sons, Tommie Jr. and Ohmane; my brothers, Thomas, Gary, Tyrone, Johnnie; and my sisters, Mildred, Wanda, and Ann. I now join my beloved parents, Tommie Sr. and Mildred, my dear siblings Crystal, Martha, Willie, Jessie, and Linda, who have gone ahead of me.

My journey has been one of a loving, inspiring, and dedicated life. I hope my story encourages you to live fully, love deeply, and always have faith. My favorite saying was, "If you're good, I'm good cause God got us." I believe in these words now more than ever.

I invite you all to join my family for my visitation on Saturday, the 6th of September, 2025, at 10:00 am EDT at Evergreen Funeral Service & Reception, located at 1855 E 17th Avenue, Columbus, Ohio, 43219. The service will follow at 11:00 am EDT.

Please, share your memories of me and upload photos to my memorial page. It would mean the world to me and my family. Remember to hold your loved ones close, for each moment is precious. Until we meet again, keep me in your hearts and know that I am at peace.
