Mr. Tommie Lee Smith Sr. age 67 of Knoxville, formerly of Roane County, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025. He was born on December 14, 1957, in Helena, Arkansas. Tommie was a lover of music and Marvin Gaye was his absolute favorite artist. He worked for years as a DJ and also as a paralegal assistant. Aside from his love of music, he was also an avid fisherman, loved to cook, and he loved to gamble in his favorite casinos. He had a tremendous sense of humor and always got a laugh out of everyone through his jokes, not to mention he talked a lot of shit. He is preceded in death by his parents: Lovell Smith & Lucille Johnson Beckwood. He is survived by:
Sons: Timothy Hall (Daytona Hall), Tommie Smith Jr, Antwon Hall, and Norman
Grandchildren: Asaiah Dwayne Hall, Taquan Kyren Hall, Ayden Lee Hall, Zyer Smith, Ezekiel Smith
Siblings: Jerry (Michelle) Beckwood, Lovell Smith Jr, Henry (Pearlee) Byers Jr, Elizabeth (George) Gray-Collins, Brenda Brewer
Best Friends: Charlie Ray, Otis Hall, Derick Johnson, Gene Hall
Mother's of his children: Gwendolyn Hall and Debra Ann Sanders
and a host of other family members and friends
A full obituary will be posted once arrangements are finalized.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 1:00-2:00 pm ET at Evans Mortuary in Rockwood. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm ET. Cremation arrangements have been made and a private interment will be held at a later date. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Mr. Tommie Lee Smith Sr.. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Evans Mortuary to help with cremation expenses.
