Mr. Tommie Duane Troutmon

Formerly of Saginaw, MIchigan.
Our loving and God-fearing father, grand-father, brother, uncle, cousin, neighbor and friend passed away on June 13, 2025, at the age of 63.
Tommie Troutmon (also known as "Bud" by his family and close friends) was born on July 9, 1961, in Saginaw, Michigan. He was the youngest son of James and Nancy Troutmon. Tommie Troutmon. He was known for his hard work, determination, and love for others. His character resonates through his two sons, Joven and Theartic and his nephews, Charles, Roland and Jaelon who lived with him during their early years of life.
After the passing of his parents, James and Nancy Troutmon, Tommie was accompanied by his brother, Carlton to Las Vegas, Nevada where he was then raised by Theartic and Hazel Roberts.
Tommie was a graduate from Valley High School he then attended Oklahoma Christian College in June of 1979. He worked retail until he decided to serve his country.
He joined the Marine Corps on July 7, 1982. During his service, Lance Corporal Troutmon was assigned to weapons company, 1st battalion. Tommie was a decorated veteran receiving medals, badges and citations in "rifle sharpshooting, pistol marksmanship, meritorious unit and Sea Service Deployment." He received awards for Good Conduct and a Letter of Appreciation from the Commanding Officer for his participation in assisting children of special needs and disabilities. As a marine, Tommie was stationed in Germany, Japan (Okinawa) and the Philippines. During service in the Philippines, Tommie met his wife, Lorenza Troutmon.
After his service, he worked as a Security Guard at Imperial Palace. He received commendation for his bravery and courageous actions. In addition to his jobs, Tommie was entrepreneur. He worked as a co-owner of "Ties Plus". He was the owner and operator of "3 Trouts Lawn Service." Tommie also worked part time for Clark County School District as a janitor and substitute teacher. Later, he retired from Excalibur Hotel and Casino as a receiving clerk.
Although Tommie was well known for his hard-work and loved his privacy, he was also a man of the Most High. He believed in God and His son. He continued to be a steward of God and told everyone who helped care for him, during his time in the hospital, that the only way to enter into God's kingdom was through His son. He spoke about God's word until he could no longer talk. He also continued to pray until he could no longer pray. Tommie left his greatest gift, his Bible, to both of his son's family to follow in his everlasting footsteps.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his brother Carlton Troutmon; sister, Linda Troutmon; aunt, Hazel Roberts; sons Joven & Theartic; daughters in-law, Melissa and Tia; grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and other loved ones.
"Bud" preceded in death by his parents James and Nancy Troutmon; grandparents, Willie and Mary Goosby, Miles and Georgia Troutmon; siblings, Nancy Jo, Roland Sr., Thurman, Norman; several uncles; aunts, Georgia Diggs, Elizabeth Moore, Ora Aytch, Gertrude Forte, Elizabeth Hooker, Myles Troutmon, Porter Troutmon and Willie Bell Troutmon.
Visitation will take place 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607. Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601
