Tommy Tomson Obituary
Tommy grew up in Brumley, Missouri, and graduated from School of the Osage in Osage Beach, Missouri. He then graduated from the University of Central Missouri in 1976. After graduating, he moved to Medicine Lodge, Kansas, where he became a deputy for the Barber County Sheriff's Office. He would later become Sheriff in Barber County from 1990-2013. He "retired" in 2013 and then started driving trucks in the oil field and the mine in Barber County before finally officially retiring in Brumley. He loved taking care of the farm, his kids, and grandkids, who he loved more than anything.
Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, William and Lora, his brothers, Charles and Phillip, and his niece, Shannon. Tommy is survived by his kids, Matthew (Katie) Tomson of Garden Plain, Kansas, Keegan Tomson (Alex Veith) of Beardstown, Illinois, and Paige (Sean) Engler of Sterling, Kansas. His grandkids, Tucker, Madison, Miles, and Bronwyn also survived him.
A celebration of life will take place at from 5-7 pm at Hedges-Scott-Millard Funeral Home, 514 Hwy 42, Osage Beach, MO. A celebration of life will be planned in Medicine Lodge, Kansas at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Barber County Sheriff's Office.
