Tony is preceded in death by his father, Carrol Avon Perkins and his first wife, which was the mother of his children, Martha Thompson Perkins.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost five years but together for 13, Pennie Lea WelchPerkins; mother, Iris "Lola" Perkins; son, Casey Avon Perkins; daughter, Kristen Danielle Perkins; siblings, Cathy Moore (Kevin), Cynthia Racine (David), and Todd Perkins (Arlene); grandchildren, Rylan Perkins, Connor Perkins, and Taryn Perkins; step children, George Welch and Sam Welch; step grandchildren, Kynly Welch, Paityn Welch, Samuel Welch, Jr., and Graham "G" Welch.
Tony was an active member of Montgomery Church of Christ. He was a 1979 graduate of Montgomery High School. He loved his family beyond compare and always worked extremely hard to provide for them. He was always giving to others and helped raise many other children that came to stay at his home. Tony went to work in the oil refinery straight out of high school. He ran and owned his own logging truck for a while until he returned to work for Starcon International in the oil refinery business. Tony fought a courageous battle with cancer for two years and never stopped working up to the day he entered the hospital. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
