Tony R. Richards, age 68, passed away on April 1, 2025. A lifelong Canton resident, he was born to Ned Allison Richards and Carol Lee (Smith) Ackerman on September 24, 1956.

During his high school years, Tony was lettered three times, and held county and school records in track and cross country. Tony earned a degree in computer programming, earning him careers at IBM, General Tire, and Summit Racing. Additionally, he spent a few years as a truck driver for Falcon and JRayl. Ultimately, Tony retired from MAS after more than sixteen years of dedicated service. Tony will also be remembered by his church family at Greentown Church of God.

Tony enjoyed gardening and hiking with his wife, Dee Dee, to whom he was happily married for 36 years until her passing. He enjoyed baseball games, fairs, and truck and tractor pulls with his kids and grandchildren. He spent many years coaching baseball with the Jackson recreational league.

Tony is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Dianna “Dee Dee” Richards.

Those left to cherish his memory are his four children, Michael “Mick” (Meagan) Richards, Sean Richards, Kayleigh Richards, and Marc Richards; five grandchildren, Landon, Riley, Jayce, Brody, and Sonora; two brothers, Leonard “Len” Richards and Bradley “Brad” Richards; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may pay their respects during calling hours on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 5-7pm at Kreighbaum Sanders Funeral Home, 4041 Cleveland Ave S., Canton, OH 44707.
