Tony Dean Shriver, age 73, of Centerville, Iowa passed away on September 29, 2025 at MercyOne Hospital in Centerville surrounded by his loved ones.
Tony was born on January 9, 1952, the son of George and Helen (Martin) Shriver. He graduated from Lamoni High School with the class of 1971. After high school, he furthered his education at Graceland University, graduating from there in 1975.
Throughout life Tony enjoyed playing slow-pitch and fast-pitch softball, along with baseball and golf. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates. He was a true sports enthusiast. For most of his working life, Tony worked at Wal-Mart as the store assistant manager. He retired from there after 28 years.
Tony is survived by his significant other, Margery Davison; sister-in-law, Marilyn Middleton (Kelly); good friends, Jon Willier (Gretchen); and other extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Perry Fielder; and a brother, Donald Shriver.
A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, starting at 1:30PM at Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham, Iowa. In lieu of flowers memorials have been established to the family to be determined at a later date and may be mailed to Thomas Funeral Home, ATTN: Shriver Family, 501 North 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
