BARRE CITY-Tracie A. Watson, 62, of Barre left this world with family and friends by her side and into the hands of the Lord on Sunday, May 11th, after a long battle with cancer. She was born on November 11, 1962 to Wayne F. Lawliss and Phyllis J. (LeClair) Lawliss of Barre, VT.
She attended St. Monica's Elementary through second grade, Mathewson Elementary School (3-5) and Spaulding Graded School (6-8). She graduated from Spaulding High School in 1980. She became employed with International Coins & Currency for 3 months after graduating - before becoming employed at Richard E. Davis Associates, Inc. for 15 yrs and left there in 1993; became employed with Zalinger, Cameron & Lambek for 5 yrs. She then was employed by the Washington Superior Court for just 2 weeks shy of 23 years due to her continued fight with cancer.
She was married to Steven M Trepanier on October 27, 1979 and had 3 children, Steven Jr., Tara and Karissa. Her marriage ended in divorce in 1992; she remarried David A. Watson on September 4, 1999 and ended in divorce in 2008.
Tracie loved the outdoors in her early years which included snowmobiling, ice fishing and joined family tournaments of bass fishing, hiking the mountains of VT and NH, being by the water and enjoying the sunshine and vacations to FL, playing cards, live concerts, and just laughing and having fun with her all of her friends and family and one of her best friends whom she was predeceased, Susan T. Jalbert.
Tracie loved to help others who were also battling cancer and found joy in giving back to those in need. Her local favorite was "Bikers for Beth" who she gained many close and dear friends who would help her through many trials and tribulations in her own fight. She made many donations to the American Cancer Society.
She leaves behind her two daughters, Tara Rivet and Karissa Covey, son-in-law Matthew Covey as well as her three handsome grandsons, Tanner Bernier, Brogan Covey, and Oliver Rivet.
Tracie is predeceased by her mother and Father, her brother Mark S. Lawliss, and son Steven M. Trepanier, Jr., her Grandparents, several aunts and Uncles, and many cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial to honor and celebrate Tracie's life will be held at St. Monica Church on Thursday June 5,2025 at 11am. Burial will follow to St. Sylvesters Cemetery in Lower Websterville.
Donations can be made in her honor to the American Cancer Association, in whichever region you choose.
Arrangements are in the care of Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, 58 Summer Street in Barre.
