Ms. Tracy Luella Clay, 44 of Peoria, passed 10:51 pm on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.
Tracy was born on September 10, 1977 in Mound Bayou, MS to Charles and JoAnn (Moore) Clay.
Tracy graduated from Freeport High School in Freeport, IL where she was a starting guard on their Lady Pretzel's basketball team. She went on to earn an Associates Degree from Highland Community College. Tracy was a dedicated teacher at Cadence Academy Preschool in Peoria Heights where she really enjoyed educating and making a difference with the children. Tracy had a passion for playing basketball. She also loved to sing and dance and being the life of the party. She was very outgoing and loved by many. Tracy especially loved her children and family. She was a great cook and loved to eat. Tracy had a beautiful smile that would light up a room upon her entrance.
Tracy leaves to cherish her most precious memories her mother, JoAnn Clay of Freeport, IL; her significant other, Alexander Dickens of Freeport, IL; one daughter, Annteana Chate (Vance Fauntleroy) Allen; three sons, Anthony Terrell (Shataisia) Thompson, Jr., Trarrell D'Charles Thompson and Jamani Daytrell Harris all of Peoria, IL; one brother, Charles Carter of Indianapolis, IN; two sisters, Markita (Troy) Bland, II of Freeport, IL and Daisy Clay of Peoria, IL; 4 grandchildren, Denarion Williams, Na'Vion Fauntleroy, Makaio Thompson and Survivor Thompson; Godmother, Lois Sledge of Orlando, FL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her. Tracy is preceded in death by her father and two grand twins, Aveir and Avionna Thompson.
Tracy we love you and you will be truly missed!
Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Church of the Living God with a visitation beginning at 9 am. Vice Chief Bishop Leroy Smith is the host Pastor. The officiant will be Rev. Kattie Lott, Pastor of Rise up International Ministries of Arlington, TX. Tracy will be laid to rest at Lutheran Cemetery.
Simons Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at simonsmortuary.com.
The service will be live streamed on Simons Mortuary's Website or Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Simons-Mortuary-232095303487150 promptly AT THE TIME OF THE SERVICE (Central Time).
Due to Covid-19, social distancing is encouraged to be consistent with recommendations from the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), funeral home directors have been instructed and should follow CDC guidelines on gatherings, including those directly related to funerals, visitations, or graveside services.
