Tracy Lane Wilkins January 9, 1960- November 19, 2022
Tracy Lane Wilkins passed away on November 19, 2022 doing an activity that he had so much passion for, riding his bicycle. Anyone who knew him knows he had a passion for God, a love for his family and a love for cycling. He spent his life going on many adventures with his high school sweetheart and wife Pamela Bowe Wilkins. He has been a huge part of the local cycling community for many years.
He is survived by his mother Edwina Jo Nelson, 2 sisters Teresa Wilkins, Genia Sissel, wife of 42 years Pamela Wilkins, daughter Libby (Jeremy) Pruett, son Ben Wilkins and 2 grandsons Joshua and Levi Pruett.
Celebration of Life for Tracy will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, at Greenlawn Funeral Home East.
The service will include comments from Bill Baer – Second Baptist Church and comments from the cycling community lead by Phil Harris & Cliff Jacobs.
Helmet Raising
For those whom cycling was your connection to Tracy, Pam asks that you bring your helmet. At the end of the service, Pam will ask for fellow riders to raise their helmets in honor of Tracy and his time shared with you.
Pam recognizes the extent of experiences shared with Tracy both on and off the bike. She would like to honor Tracy and his "pursuit of a great piece of pie" by inviting everyone to join her at her home for pie, cinnamon rolls, stories and photos immediately following the service at the funeral home. Coffee, Tea and water will be provided.
She wants to hear your stories about Tracy and be surrounded by the community she and Tracy shared. If you would like to share your photos of Tracy with Pam, please bring a USB thumb drive and we'll copy them to a hard drive
Hope to see you there as we honor, celebrate and lay to rest a leader in the Springfield cycling and Christian community.
