Travis Dean Engelage passed away peacefully at home on December 19, 2025. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Patrick Engelage; his brother, Jeff Engelage; and his parents, Warren and Katherine Engelage, who no doubt welcomed him with open arms and loving hearts. Travis is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 56 years, Debbie Engelage; his daughter, Johnna Moore; his son-in-law, Christian Moore; and his cherished granddaughters, Ava and Kayla Pressley, who brought him endless pride and joy. Travis graduated from Eastern New Mexico University in 1971 with a degree in business and went on to enjoy a successful career spanning more than 40 years. As a member of the Appraisal Institute, he appraised just about every corner of New Mexico, as well as many parts of Texas, Arizona and Utah. If there was a road to take or a property to see, Travis found it. He was known not only for his business sense, but for his loyalty, generosity, and the many friendships he built along the way. An animal lover at heart, Travis lived life with a genuine sense of adventure. In his younger years, he was a proud member of the Future Farmers of America. Rumor has it he rode a bronc or two, though details may vary depending on who’s telling the story. He especially loved riding his Harley-Davidson alongside Debbie and his favorite people to cruise with. Their adventures spanned across the country, including a memorable trip to Canada and several journeys into Mexico. Travis was fortunate to have friendships that lasted nearly the span of his life. Friends who knew him well, laughed often with him and remained by his side through every chapter of life. Travis treasured summers at the lake, where he happily took his children (and all of their friends) swimming, water skiing, and making memories that lasted far longer than any tan lines. He also loved golfing and was known to be quite good at it. So good in fact that he may have won a local tournament or two. For many years, Travis devoted his time to coaching his son’s soccer team, creating lasting memories both on and off the field and proving that patience truly is a virtue. He truly loved all of his players as if they were his own. Above all else, Travis loved his family. He gave them a good life, filled with love, laughter, adventure, and stories that will be told for generations. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered with gratitude, affection, and a smile. In keeping with Travis’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the American Lung Association.
