Barbara Ann Engelage

Engelage- Barbara Ann Engelage, age 85, of Macclenny, Florida passed away on November 29, 2024, at Macclenny Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with her loving family by her side. She was born in Worth County, Georgia on February 28, 1939, to the late Leonard Barfield and Effie Roberts Barfield. Barbara moved to Baker County as a child and remained a resident her entire life. She worked on her family farm in her formative years and later in life went back to school to earn her GED. Barbara married her best friend, Marvin Brown, and they were happily married for 18 years until his passing. A short season later, Barbara met Fritz Christian Paul Engelage, and they were joined in holy matrimony and were blessed with 23 amazing years. Barbara loved being a wife and thoroughly enjoyed traveling with Fritz. They both enjoyed their Cherokee mountain getaways and cherished the many memories they made. She always enjoyed a warm cup of coffee and drank a few each day. In her younger years, Barbara enjoyed crocheting and making special items for her home. Barbara also enjoyed watching the Jacksonville Jaguars play on Sundays. More than anything, Barbara loved her Lord and Savior and enjoyed attending Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist where she was a longtime member as well as attending other Primitive Baptist Churches in her community. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John T. Roberts, James Roberts, Charlie Roberts, and Roy Roberts; sisters, Alyse Roberts Paige and Eunice Roberts Mulice; and her loving husbands, Marvin Brown and Fritz Christian Paul Engelage.
Barbara is survived by her loving son, Michael (Karen) Brown of Macclenny, FL; grandson, Tyler (Mallory) Brown of Macclenny, FL; along with many extended family members and friends.
A Celebration of Barbara's Life will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 11:00 am at Ferreira Funeral Services Chapel with Elder Jim Sandlin officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the care and direction of V.
