Travis Kelman, 52, of Independence, Kansas passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center in Coffeyville, Kansas.
Travis was born on October 10, 1972, in Coffeyville to Debby (Sanders) Kelman. He grew up in Montgomery County where he attended local schools, graduating from Independence High School. He later attended vocational training to further his education. He was most recently employed as a clerk at Pete's in Independence.
On March 1, 2014, he was united in marriage to Amanda Bohr at the First Baptist Church in Independence. The couple would later divorce but remained friends. Travis was an OU Sooners football fan. He enjoyed reading, watching movies, fishing, playing D&D with local friends, and most of all he loved his cats.
Travis is survived by Amanda Bohr, her parents, Greg and Libby Bohr, brother-in-law, Aaron Bohr, his uncle, Gary Sanders and wife, Kelli, cousin, Eric Sanders and wife, Pam, Eric's son, Christian and wife Tylr and sons, several siblings, nieces, nephews, Amanda's family, his father, William and many close friends.
Travis is preceded in death by his mother, aunt Dorothy Rassmussen and her husband, William, uncle Harvey and wife, Phyllis, cousin, Josh Sanders and his grandparents.
Following Travis' wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas.
Memorial Services is to be held by the family on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Independence.
The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to Amanda Bohr to help offset the cost of final expenses and to support animal services in Independence; these may be left with the funeral home or mailed in c/o David W.
