I was a graduate student when I met Dr. Thompson in 2014. I had the privilege of attending his visiting seminar at UNR where I was impressed by his extensive knowledge in the field of psychology as well as his care for students. I extend my deepest condolences to his family and I wish you all an uplifting celebration of his life and comfort in this time of mourning.

Hard to believe so much time has passed since we both worked in Diehl Hall at the U. of Minn. -- that was in the late 1960's. He went on to make many contributions which helped many families. Condolences to family and others.

We have never had the pleasure of meeting Travis, but we do know the wonderful daughter that he leaves behind. Our prayers and thoughts are with the family and we pray that tears soon turn to laughter and remembrance of loving times shared. Peace be with you.

Travis was a true renaissance man- brilliant, creative, artistic, passionate and had a wry sense of humor. He gave me a chance to work alongside him at the VKC for more than 5 years on a huge NICHD Prader-Willi syndrome program project and I have never learned so much. He gave sage advice, loved to gossip and had such a sarcastic streak that always made me laugh. I have never forgotten all those lessons and all those people whose lives he touched. I respected and admired him so much and his outlook inspired my own work with people with Prader-Willi syndrome. He will be sadly missed, but he left a huge impact on the world.
